Sisters Take Over the Mall: Alpha Kappa Alpha Celebrates 116 Years at Mall of Georgia

Buford, GA - Get ready for pink and green to paint the town crimson, as the Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority throws a celebration for the ages at the Mall of Georgia this January 14th. Mark your calendars for an evening of vibrant energy, impactful service, and sisterhood forged in a legacy 116 years strong.

This isn't your average mall gathering. Think electrifying beats spun by DJ Greg Street, a dance floor pulsating with community spirit, and a room brimming with women whose dedication to service shines brighter than any storefront window. The Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter embodies the "Supreme in Service" motto of Alpha Kappa Alpha, actively contributing to the Buford community through initiatives focused on education, health, and economic empowerment.

"This celebration isn't just about us," emphasizes Chapter President Tiffany Davis. "It's about sharing our passion for service and inspiring all to embrace the values that have guided us for over a century." Attendees can expect an uplifting program infused with the rich history of Alpha Kappa Alpha, alongside opportunities to learn about and potentially even get involved in the chapter's impactful endeavors.

But don't mistake this for a seminar in suits. This is a celebration, and the Upsilon Alpha Omega sisters know how to throw a party! The night promises laughter, lively conversation, and enough food and cheer to rival Santa's workshop. Think an open house meets dance club, with a dash of "sisterhood goals" sprinkled in for good measure.

The event is free and open to the public, a deliberate choice by the chapter to break down barriers and connect with the community they serve. "We want everyone to feel welcome," says Davis. "This is a celebration of women, of service, of coming together, and that's a message that transcends any boundary."

So, whether you're an AKA alumna, a Buford local, or simply someone drawn to the infectious spirit of a group dedicated to making a difference, mark your calendars. The Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter is pulling out all the stops to show Buford and beyond what happens when sisterhood shines in the heart of a shopping mall. Get ready to dance, to be inspired, and to witness the incredible power of women united in service.

As Davis so aptly puts it, "This isn't just an event. It's a movement. And everyone's invited." Are you ready to join the party? See you on the dance floor!
