The 2023 JAM Experience at the Duluth Spring Arts Festival

The Duluth Springs Arts Festival is a two-day outdoor festival that celebrates the arts in the community. It features a variety of art forms, including painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, and more. There is also live music, food, and drinks.

This year we had the opportunity to attend the festival to capture its essence and we were blown away by the talent and creativity of the local artists. It was also impressive to see the sense of community that the festival fostered. If it's been a while since you've gone, one of the first things you'll notice is the recently installed turf not far from the amphitheater, outfitted with picnic tables where families (including furbabies) gathered for a moment in solitude.

What we loved most about the festival was the opportunity to meet the artists and learn about their work. We were particularly impressed by the work of one young artist who sold her paintings at the festival. Her paintings were beautiful and unique, and we were really inspired by her story. She told us that she had always loved to create, but she had never thought of herself as an artist until she started attending art classes at the local community college. She said that the classes had helped her to develop her skills and to gain the confidence to share her work with others.

We cherish the sense of community that the festival fostered. There was a real sense of camaraderie among the artists, which we learned some of which have been on the roster for at least a decade. You could get the sense that this was very much a show of skilled veterans. We saw a droves of families and friends at the festival, and it was clear that attendees enjoyed the live music while the children had a blast on the bounce houses at the playground.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Duluth Springs Arts Festival. It was a great opportunity to see the work of local artists, to learn about their stories, and to connect with the community. We definitely recommend attending this annual festival for its fall installment if you have the chance.

Here are some of the things that we learned from our experience at the Duluth Springs Arts Festival:

  • There is a variety of talent and creativity locally - young and old.
  • Artists are often inspiring and passionate people.
  • The arts can help people to connect with each other and to build community.
  • The arts can be a powerful force for good in our community and the world.

We hope that our experience at the Duluth Springs Arts Festival will inspire others to get involved in the arts. The arts are a valuable part of our community, and they can enrich our lives in many ways.
